The Life of Samir Zeinoun (Zaynoun)
Samir Zeinoun was born on 13th January 1964 in a Kawkaba, a small town in South
of Lebanon.
Samir is the son of Yousef Zeinoun, a soldier in the Lebanese army from Qobayat,
a village in Lebanon 's North. Samir's mother Marie is from Kawkaba a village in Lebanon
's South. Marie was a religious person who cherished her home and family composed
of 6 sons.
Samir's childhood was in his birthplace of Kawkaba and in 1975 when the Lebanese
war broke out; he left the village in 1977 and moved with his family to Dabyeh
a port town just north of Beirut. He attended St Rita elementary school.
In 1980, the 16 year old Samir joined the Kataeb (Phalanges) Party and would later
be a part of the Lebanese Forces (LF) Christians Resistance, part of which was composed
from Kataeb fighters. From this moment on, Samir started to prove himself and rise
through the ranks of the Lebanese Forces.
He served the LF with conviction as he saw them the salvation of the Christians
in Lebanon from the regional and local threats they were facing. His firm belief
in the cause was highlighted by his commitment and tireless execution of duties.
